Today we had Scott Johnson a screen writer come and talk to the grade about his job as a screen writer.
That all anyone needs to become a writer is a story idea. That if you have a pen and paper you can become a writer.
He reminded the children that if they keep a journal they just have to get their ideas down on paper. That his number one rule is "To just write. Show us, don't tell us"

He shared one of his screen plays with us and talked about the process of a screen play being written to getting to becoming a movie.
Scott has written up to 12 screen plays and sold 2 screen plays to companies like HBO and is now waiting for them to be made into a movie.

Scott told us that he has boxes and boxes of journals that he writes his ideas down in and always carries a journal with him where ever he goes so if he see an idea he can write it down.
