Weekly Wrap Up

This week we had some G7 secondary maths students come over and share their maths games they had made with the class. It was a really nice way to start the week watching how the class interacted with the grade 7 students.

Check out these photos. Don't the G4 look so small next to the G7 students.

Yes Maly is still on crutches but she is enjoying having the use of the elevator, as does some others.

G10 Personal Project & Guest Speaker

Today we had Jonas a grade 10 student work with our class on his "Personal Project".
He has the class using recyclable items to create things. It was great fun and lots of interesting things being made.

We also had Rogier Mansvelt who works for Comin-Khmer a solar energy company talk to the grade about what they are doing to get more solar energy into Cambodia.

Guest Speaker & Friendship Tree

On Friday the Grade unveiled the friendship tree we have been working on as a collaborative art project.

Now the grade will come up with an appropriate name for the tree and also write a descriptive statement for it.

We also had Mr Marty Sharples a secondary teacher.

He spoke to the grade about his documentary he made with his friend called the "Cyclo Diaries". A documentary about them cycloing (biking) from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh city in 30 days.
Marty Sharples and Adam Hurley pedalled a Vietnamese cyclo almost the entire length of the country. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.

Mr Marty told the children that first you have to have an idea then plan it.
