Readers theatre in action

This week the class has been busy with their readers theatre groups in preparation to perform them.
I was really impressed with how everyone did in such a short time and without any input from the teacher.


 The children involved in this years musical definitely had the edge.

But there were some others that shone and maybe they need to come out from behind the backstage and next year be involved more.

Readers Theatre

Today saw the class start a new activity for our reading, "Readers Theatre" - Plays.


The class was split into 3 groups of mixed reading ability and assigned a play to work on.

Today the groups just read through the plays and then assigned who was going to take on each role. Each group was also given a person to take on the role as director to keep the groups on task.



It was great to see everyone supporting those that had difficulty with their lines. We will continue to rehearse these for another day and then perform them to the class.


That is another skill.
