Child Safe - Unsafe Touches

Today Ms Alison was in the class for her second lesson on being safe. This lesson we looked out different touches

These being - Unsafe touch (physical), Unwanted Touch and Private Touch.
The children had to each identify the various types of touch and come up with how they would deal with each.
Unsafe Touch - Physical touch is the easiest to identify and deal with. Examples of these are punching, hurting someone - pushing, kicking, pulling the hair, pinching.

They were all reminded they they must keep their body safe.

Unwanted touch - Is when you feel uncomfortable. Some examples are being hugged, someone touching your head, holding your hand. Invading your personal space.

Private Touch - When you are touched in your private areas of your body. Ms Alison reminded the class these are the parts of the body we cover when we go swimming. No one should be touching you here for any reasons. Except maybe when visiting a doctor with your parents.

Ms Alison informed the class they need to Recognise how they are feeling, is it safe. Report it to an adult and Refuse - be assertive and say NO.

The class then looked at some scenarios and decided if they were Safe or Unsafe and how they would refuse it.
