He talked to the children about what is a leader? What are the attributes of a leader?
He reminded the children that everyone can be a leader, everyone has the ability. You don't have to be born into it. Something we have heard from every guest speaker we have had.
Leaders do not have to hold a title or position, but need to motivate and inspire people to follow them.
To be a good leader, leaders need to be good role models, to inspire and motivate people. They need to be confident in themselves.
He told the children that leaders need to be accountable for their actions and do not blame others for failings. They are accountable for their actions (own up if they fail) but if they do make a mistake, they learn from it and try not to do it again.
Leaders also need to demonstrate honesty and integrity and be trusted by others.
Other attributes of a leader he also spoke about was confidence, charismatic, energetic, caring, collaborative, never giving up (persistent) and that leaders are achievers. They want to get results and tasks completed.
It was really nice having Mr Hun Maneth at school as he is also a parent.
