Persuasive Writing Introduction

This week the class was introduced to Persuasive writing with Ms Lynn.

They looked at what is persuasive writing and what is the purpose of it. They then were given the task of deciding if they were for or against (the pro & con) "Homework" and had to use a mind map to start their thinking of trying to persuade the reader.

We will look forward to posting their writing once finished. Some strong arguments both for and against homework.

Angkor Wat Run Training

On Friday the first run training session for Angkor Wat begun.

All the children that have signed up to travel to Siem Rep in December for the Angkor Fun Bike & Run had their first fitness session led by Mr Ben and Ms Leticia.

They introduced a fun way to get all the children involved by them each being in groups of 4 and rotating around different activities.

Each activity involved some sort of fitness activity.

Pchum Ben Presentation

On the last week we had Ms Synith our wonderful G4 Teaching Assistant talk to the grade about Pchum Ben. We were then shown how to fold Lotus flowers. The children did really well with their folding.

Thanks Ms Synith for telling us why Pchum Ben is so important.

We also learnt why the lotus flower is so important to Cambodians and that is because it is what Buddha sits on and is often depicted in paintings and carvings sitting on a lotus.

House Tabloid Sports

On Wednesday we had our first official house tabloid sports activities. Mr Stanton from secondary organise 5 different activities for the G3-5 to rotate around.

These were - Obstacle course, Slip n Slide, Bungee Basketball, Pirates and Treasure and Battle Ship

The classes had a great time and I am sure the slip n slide was the favourite.

Of course this was a fun event but also points towards your house with Mekong (blue) winning the elementary section.

Thanks Mr Stanton.
