Dance & Movie night

Jade asked if I could put this on our blog to promote a movie and dance night on Friday 3rd February at the Russian Ballet on St 63.

Her sister is fundraising for a dance competition in Bangkok.

Check out the flyer. Sounds like fun.

Stop Motion App

This week the class have been learning how to use "Stop Motion App" to create a narrative story. The app is similar to Lego Movie Stop Motion App.

The class had to first come up with a story line and crete a story board for it. Bring in what they needed and this week have just been taking their photos.

For a 10 second movie they need to take up to 100 photos. It takes a lot of patience and planning ensuring they do not move the camera.
It has been great fun.

Next we will learn how to add sound affect and use green screen to make our movies more effective.

Check out the movie Jade and Lucy did at home over the weekend.

Grade 10 Personal Projects

On Thursday the G4 classes were invited by secondary Grade 10 to come and see their personal projects.

It was great to see what the grade 10's had been doing. It was especially nice for the class to see Watey a G10 student who surveyed our class on her personal project on "Corruption" and to see her final product. She was investigating what the children knew of corruption and was corruption okay. Would we recognise corruption if we saw it.

There were some wonderful personal projects. Mr Simon's favourite was the proposed ISPP school uniform, the star wars Lightsaber - A Star Wars weapon (who doesn't like Star wars), the music to workout (Pain is temporary - the mix) to and the various rugby projects.

Field trip - Jewish Synagogue

Today the G4 classes boarded the buses for the third time and went to the Jewish Synagogue to learn more about Judaism.

At the synagogue we were met by the Rabbi who talked to us about the Jewish faith.

He talked about the history of Judaism, some of the preachings and showed us some important artifacts.

The rabbi reminded the children that Judaism is a monotheistic religion, meaning - relating to or characterised by the belief that there is only one God. "A monotheistic religion"

That from Judaism Christianity was born.
